About the Program

Junior female doctor under trainingHome Health Aides play a very important role in health care. They help the elderly, convalescent, or disabled persons in their own homes instead of a healthcare facility.  The aides provide basic personal care and companion needs to a variety of individuals (patients) who require more assistance than family and/or friends are able to provide.

Nurses who are employed at nursing homes get the assistance of healthcare professionals known as CNA (certified nursing assistant) who provide quality care for residents in  hospitals, long term health care facilities, assisted living facilities and private home care.

Both courses will include learning basic emergency procedures, such as CPR and the Heimlich maneuver. All of the courses you will take will be taught by registered nurses. The curriculums are structured to provide theory and practical applications to function as a home health aides and certified nurses assistant. You will be trained and certified in Continuing Education Units: HIV/AIDS, Alzheimer’s Disease, Domestic Violence/Elder Abuse, Assist with the Self-Administration of Medication and Prevention of Medication Error are included in both course.
